About This Blog

I started this blog as a release for the madness I felt creeping into me from parenting my three small boys. Writing helps clear my head and allows me to see the greater picture, the funny side, and serves to release the stress. It's cathartic, therapeutic, and I am happier because of it.

The "descent into madness" is not meant to solely indicate negativity towards parenting. There is a descent into the madness of unconditional love for our children and into the beauty of creating a family. It's also a play on words. I'm not actually crazy. (THAT'S WHAT THEY ALL SAY, RIGHT?)

In this blog, I curse, make inappropriate and dirty-minded references, write about things that are funny, sad, difficult, stupid, annoying, mediocre, awesome, and everything in between. I write about my life from my voice and my perspective and I don't apologize for any of that or for who I am.

This space is meant to support parents (and future parents) in the journey of raising a tiny squalling pooping machine to some form of adulthood. If you don't like what you read, that's TOTALLY FINE, but just realize that you stepped into the wrong bathroom and silently exit.

I love respectful, intelligent discourse and am not opposed to differing opinions or thoughts, but I AM opposed to hateful, disrespectful, and intentionally hurtful comments, and that won't be tolerated here.

With that being said, let's have some fun!

While on Facebook I came across your post. You may never read this, but on the hope that you do, I present an abbreviated story: I had 9 pregnancies in 10 years, failed on every known form of birth control including 2 pregnancies after a tubal ligation. I have 4 children (5 abortions). Reading between the lines you can imagine what it did to my psyche, soul, marriage. I'm now old enough to have made peace with my life, but what a roller coaster it was!
